College is not for everyone, but that does not mean you should not be a type of higher education or a training exercise. When you think about your future, what do you envision? Are you doing something you love, or you come to work for a salary?

How to choose between the 4-year colleges and technical schools:
Ask yourself these questions and consider the advantages and disadvantages of each type of institution.

Be an informed consumer. Check the equipment is new and updated? How to compare it with the equipment to be used on the job? Believe me, it can be annoying, but it is very important. After graduation, I realized I needed more time for the computer programs of research, the employer expects me to know the techniques of writing jobs. I’d better informed, I might have an additional course dealing specifically with these programs.
Consider the following points: the size of the campus, current students and alumni, faculty and staff;
Find out if the school is accredited and licensed, that make extraordinary claims? Your transfer credits?
4-year colleges
Some people want to learn for the sake of learning, while some are more focused and motor and schools to use as a springboard to create progress. If you are interested in scholarly activities over a traditional 4-year college may be your best option.
Advantages: a liberal arts education is applied in many areas, exploring different themes, prestige, student life ”
Disadvantages: expensive, time consuming, may produce in the area no longer wishes to pursue high standards and admission requirements, may be more sluggish employment upon graduation, may need additional training
Technical Schools
College was for everyone, technical schools do not exist. Some people feel a stigma attached to technical schools. In a society where attending college has become the standard, we lose sight of the value of vocational training. People feel abnormal and may be angry if they do not want to study, but feel obliged to do anyway.
Advantages: Shorter, targeted programs, standards for easy access, flexible schedules, certifications are not necessarily offered at colleges in 4 years, hands on training
Disadvantages: can be considered less prestigious, can be expensive, there may be less space for the exploration of other courses, accreditation, for-profit
