Distance education is becoming popular among military soldiers. Online colleges and universities are designing online degree programs and have special military packages just for military students. These custom made packages are a great benefit to active duty soldiers. It allows them to get higher education and a chance to earn a degree online while serving our country. But is distance education a good choice of learning for military soldiers? Let’s take a look.

Distance Education – The perfect fit for military soldiers

Many military students are taking advantage of this wonderful opportunity and using their off hours to do class work and assignments. This is a perfect fit for many reasons, one being convenience. Students can sign in to their online classroom at times that are convenient to them, no matter where they are and what time zone they are in. Not having to physically attend campus at specific times is often easier for individuals in the military. Students are able download class lectures to view and listen to at times that are more convenient to them. They can also review lectures over and over again which help them to retain the information much better than they would have listening to the same lecture only once in a traditional classroom environment.

Fast Access to Online Education

The rapid expansion of the Web and distance education technology has changed things for online students. Now, when soldiers are deployed to other locations, they are still able to continue with their education. Many accredited online colleges and universities have created military online degree programs to meet the needs of service members. The only problem that military students may have with distance learning is the access to fast Internet connection especially if they are located in areas where access to fast connection is a problem. But overall it is still an excellent choice of learning for military soldiers.

Online Learning Advantages

The advantages of learning online are many. They include:

Flexibility
Portability
Convenience
Easy access
Interactivity

Financial Aid for Military Students

Distance education military members also have access to financial aid, grants, scholarships and other military discounts and education benefits which can be used to pay for tuition and other college costs.

Looking at all the benefits and advantages of online learning, I would say go for it! Distance education is a good choice of learning for military soldiers.

Best Online College Majors For Military Soldiers

If you are planning to join the military, or already a military soldier, or have plans to re-enter civilian life, choosing the online college major can make a big difference in your career and your future. The right college major can help shape your life in ways imaginable.

Aerospace Engineering
Liberal Arts Major
Criminal Justice Majors
Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Marine engineers and naval architects

If you are moved, touched or inspired by Landmark education success stories the best thing to do is share it with others. One of the life lessons taught at the Landmark forum and Landmark education courses is the need to involve others in a shared vision. You will only be able to make this kind of contribution if you show a certain level of passion and uniqueness. Furthermore, it is the Landmark education that will help you realize what you can really achieve. This is what you share with others.

The essence of any Landmark education program is to cause a change, not only in your life but that of others as well. Therefore, as you take this course, you will be educated on various ways to share your skills and talents with those in your family, community or organization. It is crucial that you know that it is not easy to articulate yourself if you do not have an interest or passion for what you are engaged in. In the Landmark forum, you will be taught how to express yourself better and how to have confidence in whatever you do. The direct result of this kind of life training is that, you get to have quality relationships with your family and others. You also gain confidence in your ability to make other people share in your vision. In addition to your improved relationships and confidence, your personal life will change for the better as you become productive.

It is not unusual to have the desire to share your positive experience with others. In any case, this is the key fundamental structure of the Landmark education. All these programs offer lessons that will help you learn how to be open and make huge contributions in the community you are in.

If you have taken any Landmark forum education programs, you are allowed to contribute in different ways. You can create a project, write stories and even post news items online for others to access. The point to remember is that, the project or story should be what you have experienced. This way, you will inspire others with your endeavors as you also get moved by the life experience of other graduates. Additionally, the issue you talk about should be topics you are passionate on and want to make a significant impact on.

There are very many online sites where you can post your stories, news and projects. Many of the Landmark education graduates have collaborated and opened blogs, websites and forums where you are allowed to make your contribution. In these sites, you will be allowed to make your contribution in the form of videos or written articles. These will be posted on the site and up-dated frequently. You can make as much input as you like. Moreover, you are also allowed to share your story in any language as it is accepted by the site. This is made possible by the fact that the Landmark forum and Landmark education are international life training courses. Therefore, these education systems have been translated into several languages for the benefit of the global community.

The first millennium and the few centuries preceding it saw the flourishing of higher education at Nalanda, Takshila, Ujjain, & Vikramshila Universities. Art, Architecture, Painting, Logic, Grammar, Philosophy, Astronomy, Literature, Buddhism, Hinduism, Arthashastra (Economics & Politics), Law, and Medicine were among the subjects taught and each university specialized in a particular field of study. Takshila specialized in the study of medicine, while Ujjain laid emphasis on astronomy. Nalanda, being the biggest centre, handled all branches of knowledge, and housed up to 10,000 students at its peak.

Education under British Rule

British records show that indigenous education was widespread in the 18th century, with a school for every temple, mosque or village in most regions of the country. The subjects taught included Reading, Writing, Arithmetic, Theology, Law, Astronomy, Metaphysics, Ethics, Medical Science and Religion. The schools were attended by students representative of all classes of society.

The current system of education, with its western style and content, was introduced & funded by the British in the 20th century, following recommendations by Macaulay. Traditional structures were not recognized by the British govt and have been on the decline since. Gandhi is said to have described the traditional educational system as a beautiful tree that was destroyed during the British rule. After Independence

After independence, education became the responsibility of the states. The Central Government’s only obligation was to co-ordinate in technical and higher education and specify standards. This continued till 1976, when the education became a joint responsibility of the state and the Centre. After 1976

In 1976, education was made a joint responsibility of the states and the Centre, through a consititutional amendment. The center is represented by Ministry of Human Resource Development’s Deparment of Education and together with the states, it is jointly responsible for the formulation of education policy and planning.

NPE 1986 and revised PoA 1992 envisioned that free and compulsory education should be provided for all children up to 14 years of age before the commencement of 21st century. Government of India made a commitment that by 2000, 6% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will be spent on education, out of which half would be spent on the Primary education.

In November 1998, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee announced setting up of Vidya Vahini Network to link up universities, UGC and CSIR. Education in India – Recent Developments

The Indian Education System is generally marks-based. However, some experiments have been made to do away with the marks-based system which has lead to cases of depression and suicides among students. In 2005, the Kerala government introduced a grades-based system in the hope that it will help students to move away from the cut-throat competition and rote-learning and will be able to focus on creative aspects and personality development as well.

Development of education in India regards that free and compulsory education should be provided to all children up to fourteen years of age before the commencement of 21st century. Moreover, the 86th Amendment of the Indian constitution makes education a fundamental right for all children aged 6-14 years. Education travelled a long way and thus Indian education system introduced certain advantageous system such as Online education In India. Online education is a system of education training which is delivered primarily via the Internet to students at remote locations. The Online courses may not be delivered in a synchronous manner.

India had several great minds at work, which contributed in every aspect of life. The concept of zero, decimal and Pythagoras Theorem were all developed here.

When an individual graduate out of university in New York his debt is equal to small village in India and an Indian student graduate out of Delhi University his debt is equal to a small town in USA. It’s time to make education free, developed countries like Canada already have free education upto under graduation studies. India has an equivalent right to education where every child has right to be educated till the age of thirteen. Extraminds.com has taken this matter a little further and has wowed to educate each and every child from the age of twelve years to seventeen years i.e. 7th to 12th class. Apart from this free education Extraminds provide counseling and graduate courses which is also covered in free education.

As today’s scenario the biggest dream that any parent in India fosters is that his child will excel in academics, more than 90% marks, crack PMT, JEE or CAT and become a doctor, engineer or a high-flying executive.

With the advancement of technology, online learning or e-learning has penetrated into the Indian education market at a rapid speed. With more and more youth opting for distance learning instead of regular full time studies e learning has become a popular option. The advance of distance learning via e-learning module is that people can engage in other activities like following their hobbies or working along with the studies.

While there have been many organizations which is using e-learning as a mode to earn money, there is a premier group in India which is using E-learning for a social cause which is to educate India free of cost. Extraminds has been a revolution in the Indian market because it has a goal of providing free education to each and every corner across India. And the most amazing thing is that this online portal is free for everyone.

Extraminds achieve this goal using their web portal; they provide free subject videos from class 6th to 12th covering all the subjects as per CBSE curriculum. Not just online videos they provide sample papers for entrance exams, job posting as per company requirements. With its launch in Jan -2011 it has created a buzz in the industry because its offers a niche product. No one ever has been part of this social cause.

So, I believe you all have a golden chance to get free online education through Extraminds which provides free educational videos, fun loving games, personal diary, classroom chat and many more to explore.

The right education is extremely important because if you learn the wrong methodology in trading, you’re going to lose your entire trading account. Here is some solid advice you can use when it comes time to choose the right trading webinar to teach you how to trade (whether it be through webinars, books, courses, events, or telecasts.)

Most traders, years ago at least, started out by going to the local library and reading stacks of books and training materials on trading. Some went to college. But learning the many hundreds of different systems and methods on trading is a lot to weed through and to do it alone is overwhelming.

In fact, there’s so much literature written out there about trading, that the problem is no longer “How do I trade”, but “What source or book can I trust?” You’ll be asking yourself, what system works and what the right system is for you and your goals, and it quickly becomes an information overload.

So while turning to libraries and bookstores as the primary source of your information is a worthwhile activity, the most effective and efficient way you’re going to find the best trading webinar educational series available is through recommendations. Many companies, online and in person, offer trading courses, schools, and programs, and many are useful. A good way to start comparing trading schools and webinars to each other is by evaluating how they teach.

Look for companies that utilize video capturing software to capture their computer screens in an effort to instruct their students in a step-by-step manner how to trade and the trading methodology behind their instructions.

When learning how to trade, you’ll want to be taken through the entire process of screening, analyzing, executing and closing a trade on video. Because trading is done online, you’ll need to be comfortable with working charts, analytical software, and your broker’s online trading platform. Learning how to actually execute a trade is an entirely different level of education, and the reason is because every broker has their own proprietary execution system or trading platform.

What’s The Worst Case Trading Scenario?

Your education should be focused on teaching you to weight the best case scenario from the worst case scenario. Every time you put a trade on, it needs to be done with the knowledge of not only how much money can be made, but how much can be lost. You can be taught this mentality as a new trader, but stay away from trading webinars and educational programs that primarily focus on how much money can be made. That’s an unrealistic approach that will create unrealistic expectations.

Some of the biggest trading schools out there preach fake truisms to hook your ambitions by telling you that you’ll make 300% on your money and that you broker trading account will double every two and three months. That’s not realistic!

You want an educational trading company that is going to show you the right way to get into a trade, when to get out of a trade, and how to analyze the risk. It’s dangerous to join a program that is impractically ignoring the risk of trading, because we all know, even the market’s greatest and most prolific traders are wrong, at the very least, some of the time.

Preparing the next generation to take on responsibilities in all areas of life is highly important. The way children learn and grow socially at the elementary level will determine how well they handle academic pressures and societal norms throughout their education and life. Online training in elementary education is available from many colleges and universities that properly prepare future teachers.

Teachers and education professionals need to have a strong desire to help children learn and want to see them become successful inside the classroom and out. Online schooling prepares students in a variety of ways. Students will learn how to approach children, learning habits, and teaching methods through a wide range of online courses. Prospective students can obtain an associate’s degree to a PhD in elementary or early childhood education. Each level of degree prepares students specifically for career positions in the field. These can include working in a daycare or becoming a teacher or an administrator.

Let’s look at specific courses in order to gain a better understanding of what it would be like to become a student in an elementary education degree program. Courses include a wide range of topics like teaching methods, literacy, childhood development, and more. Many online education colleges will present general education courses like math, science, and English under method courses. Students will also take seminar courses that will emphasize practical application of knowledge gained.

Method courses involving general education are important because that knowledge will directly translate into knowledge learned by students in the classroom. A reading and language arts course will center on theory, methods, and state standards in regards to reading. Students will learn how to prepare standard-based instruction and classroom work. In a social studies course students will learn how to apply state standards to the five areas of social studies. The use of critical thinking, study skills, and how to teach an integrated system will be examined. Another core class that is highly important to the progression of children is an online child development course. Study will encompass development in children from birth to eighth grade. The areas of study will include physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and moral development. Students will learn how to apply this knowledge as it pertains to teaching methods in an elementary environment.

Classroom management is a course that will not only directly relate to working in the classroom but it will also be evaluated when a student becomes a teacher. This type of course will explore strategies in how to manage a classroom. Topics will include online education in communication, procedures, motivation, disruptive students, and more. The course will help students choose their personal classroom management strategy. Another classroom managing course is an assessment course. Topics in this type of course would cover formative and summative assessments. The class would examine and explore all the areas of classroom assessment like performance, standardization, and more.

Don’t let your passion for teaching or children go to waste. Search out accredited programs that will help you gain an online teaching degree or further your knowledge. Enter a fulfilling career by enrolling in an online degree program for elementary education today.

More and more students want to attend online classes because they are aware of all of the conveniences they offer. In addition to being able to study on your own time, students can still work a full time job without worrying about leaving work to catch a class or lecture. Now, there is an opportunity for students to get a jump start on their online education with a scholarship for an online class.

Scholarships are now available for ACE recommended classes that are accepted at many participating online colleges. Online colleges are interested in finding students who have already been exposed to learning through this medium, and offering scholarships for free classes is one way to do that. Colleges and educational companies are partnering together to offer scholarships for accredited classes to interested students. Students can choose one of several distance learning colleges or universities.

If a student decides to apply for the free scholarship, they must meet certain qualifications. Students who are not U.S. citizens or over the age of 18 aren’t eligible for this particular scholarship. They must have a high school diploma or a GED, and must not have already achieved a bachelor’s degree, or be currently enrolled in college. They must also agree to take an entrance exam to ensure they can meet the rigorous requirements of college level learning.

The scholarship is for one college level class. The curriculum is not intended to be easy or an automatic A. Each class is designed by college professors and faculty to meet certain requirements that participating universities stipulate. If a student is not willing to put in at least six to eight hours of study time per week, they may not successfully complete the class.

Each class that is covered by the scholarship is about five weeks long. As a general rule, the classes that are offered are either an intro to psychology class or an English composition class. These two classes are the most frequently offered because most colleges and universities require them in order to graduate.

If a student for some reason cannot complete the class, they needn’t worry. It won’t affect their GPA for classes taken at a later date. Only credits that are transferred will affect a student’s GPA.

The fact of the matter is that online learning isn’t for everyone. It takes a certain amount of self-motivation to work in an online college environment. There are no teachers to remind you about assignments or study time. Online students must be able to complete tasks on their own, and to work out a schedule for study and stick to it.

There is much debate in current theory over how appropriate it is for social media to be implemented in the recruitment processes of universities. Many argue that it’s a dangerous step given the additional management and time required to control the messages and opinions that are expressed. However, it cannot be denied that the social media sphere is where the majority of a university’s target audience hang out and so it would be idiotic to ignore the obvious potential-

Universities and Social Media

It cannot be denied that the vast majority of prospective students are social media connoisseurs so it makes sense for university marketing teams to venture down this trail in their recruiting activities. The days of paper leaflets and bulky prospectuses are fading fast and in order to stay relevant to students, it’s imperative that universities drop the obsession with tradition and pride and remember as Renault keep telling us- we live in modern times. Many universities have already adopted these strategies encouraging students to engage in friendly banter on their Facebook pages, or use it as a source for prospective students to engage with the experiences of current students. The big worry many universities have is, how do you stop people publicly slating you? Well the answer- you can’t really so get over it. If someone wants to write something derogatory, they will and at least if it’s on your page you are able to monitor such comments for any validity and perhaps get to grips with some of the truths that you choose to ignore but which are preventing recruitment! The fact is social media sites are basically self-regulating and all you have to do is facilitate. That is, for every negative comment made there will someone waiting to refute it often a happy student! It’s important not to shy away from the bad because the fact is; no university is or has ever been, above ridicule. Rather than becoming obsessed over whether or not to take the plunge into social media universities should perhaps be more concerned over the growing issue ofonline security, both on a practical level and in an educational context. Given that all university students are legally adults there seems to be less of a concern about protecting their online experiences. However, it’s still important that students are deterred from visiting inappropriate sites on campus, for their own safety, for the comfort of others and indeed to allow for optimum productivity on the student’s part. Additionally universities, as institutes of learning should be a primary setting for educating people on the actual threats and dangers inherent with unprotected online activity to make them more astute. Most universities offer IT course in some format but very few devote any time to increasing knowledge on the area ofcyber security, either through research or practical workshops. One exception which caught my eye online today was the actions of 2 Newark Law schools.

Law school students, prosecutors and homeland security agents, as part of a project sponsored by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, will have the chance to learn more about cyber security law and the emerging concern with online terrorism. This was one of the top story’s released by the Northjersey.com news this morning, reinforcing the growing realisation of the link between education andonline security. The Cybersecurity Law Project, which will be held at two Newark law schools, is one of the first of its kind nationwide, said Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli. Overall this points more than anything to the acknowledgment for the need of for education in regard toonline security, and were better to further the gaps in knowledge than at universities, noted as the pillars of academia in society!

Pupils taking an ICT GCSE falls 17 per cent

However it’s perhaps wrong to pile all the pressure on the universities given it can be often the student’s relationship with IT formed through their secondary school education that forms their online behaviours and knowledge of the subject. A latest report suggests that almost a fifth less students took the ICT GCSE this year, which is a significant fall from last year. It is perhaps more surprising given the fact that this age-group spend a considerable time online; actively engaging in social media, online shopping, gaming and general browsing. In many ways for the majority of these teens, such an absorption in online activity coupled with a deficiency in knowledge can leave these students the most vulnerable. Introducing the need for aneducation solution.

As Osborn from Symantec points out, the fall in ICT participation by 17per cent, is strange given the national shortage of skilled IT professionals. The reason given by The Royal Society is because that ICT GCSE lessons are too boring! Osborn suggests that adding information security to the IT curriculum would make it more interesting for pupils and help them to engage more. Additionally, it would also help young people to protect themselves online, which is crucial given the continuous fears that social media sites such as Facebook have brought to the fore. However, increased student awareness into the importance ofonline security should be complimented with a similar teacher and administrator awareness. That is, the onus on schools throughout the country to implement a managed service such asMaildistiller’s Webaware to safeguard students online. Such a service allows schools to control the type of sites students can visit whilst on campus. They can choose whether to totally block access to particular websites, simply limit access to lunchtime or better still limit the number of posts made on a certain site! Therefore, enabling a school, to reassure parents and guardians, of their commitment to student’s safety.

So Education and the web-.. the perfect match?

Overall, the point remains that educational institutions rely heavily on the internet; forsecure email correspondence between staff and students or peer to peer, their website to provide updates and information, student browsing through the wealth of information and tools available online to help with studies, access to online research journals and much more. Therefore it is not unreasonable to assume thatonline security should be at the fore. Is there?
